About us

A beauty & education space in South Austin

ATX Beauty Exchange is a beauty and education space in South Austin, created to bring talented professionals, clients, and educators together.

Listening, learning & caring

We believe great service starts with listening, learning, and caring about the person in your chair. Our approach combines personalized beauty services with a commitment to continuing education, giving professionals room to grow and clients a team they can trust.

With a welcoming atmosphere and a love for creativity, we’re building a community where you can refresh your look, explore something new, and feel comfortable being yourself.

ATX Beauty Exchange brings salon services, professional education, and thoughtfully selected beauty products together under one roof. Clients can connect with beauty professionals who care about their individual needs, while stylists and other professionals can build their skills through classes, collaboration, and shared experience.

Giving back is part of that vision, too. Through community events and our connection with Death by Hair: A Fresh Start, we aim to create more opportunities for people to receive care and feel confident.

Meet the team

Owner & Founder

Angela Jenkins

Angela Jenkins is the owner and founder of ATX Beauty Exchange and Pia’s Fades and Salon. A hairstylist specializing in custom K-tip extensions, color, and precision cuts, Angela loves helping people find a look that feels like them.

Her dream of becoming a hairstylist began long before beauty school. After getting married and starting a family, she returned to pursue that dream, earning her cosmetology license in 2021 and opening her own salon suite.

ATX Beauty Exchange is the next chapter of that journey: a place where she can bring together her love of hair, ongoing education, and community. As the founder of the nonprofit Death by Hair: A Fresh Start, Angela also works to make beauty services accessible to people facing difficult circumstances. Her goal is simple: help people feel confident, supported, and welcome.

Assistant & Stylist

Caitlyn De Tray

Caitlyn is a hairstylist with three years of experience and a 2023 graduate of Paul Mitchell. She’s passionate about high-impact blonding, lived-in blondes, and dimensional brunettes, and loves creating customized color that complements each client’s features, lifestyle, and personal style.

She works alongside Angela behind the chair and keeps the salon running smoothly, making sure every guest feels at home from booking to blowout. Her goal is to create beautiful, effortless hair while making every client feel their absolute best.

Death by Hair: A Fresh Start

At Death By Hair: A Fresh Start, we believe beauty is more than skin deep. A fresh haircut, a simple style, or even a kit of essentials can become a symbol of hope, confidence, and renewal.

Our mission is to empower women in transitional living, whether escaping hardship, starting over, or rebuilding their lives, by providing:

At-home haircare kits filled with tools & products
Encouragement, community, and love

We’re here to remind women that they are seen, valued, and capable of creating the life they deserve.
